At foot.io, we're committed to providing the most comprehensive and reliable football data available. To that end, we've been working hard on a new tool to monitor and improve the quality of our data: the Data Quality Dashboard.
What is the Data Quality Dashboard?
The Data Quality Dashboard is a centralised view of key data quality metrics for our football database. It tracks various aspects of our data, including:
- Completeness: Are we missing data for certain matches, seasons, or players?
- Accuracy: Are the data points correct and consistent?
- Timeliness: Are we updating the data as quickly as possible?
- Consistency: Are data formats and identifiers standardised across different sources?
Why is data quality important?
Reliable data is the foundation of any meaningful analysis. Inaccurate or incomplete data can lead to flawed insights and incorrect conclusions. The Data Quality Dashboard allows us to proactively identify and address potential issues, ensuring that our users can trust the data they're working with.
